Requirements Architect
To coin a term, I call myself a Requirements Architect.
I work with you to get your online architecture and documentation together so that your team (external and internal) have all the information they need to build your online presence (and test it against your plan). This includes your website, social media (FaceBook/Twitter), database, integration with your marketing plans and more.
I work with you, your team and your suppliers, in any combination, to achieve your business and marketing objectives through your online activity.
I have a tested process of questions, documentation and experience that interactively gets you a concise plan. This is the plan used by your development team to build your site.
You create a living document that you can use to build your site, extend your site or add functionality.
What are requirements?
Requirements are the set of business needs, use cases, instructions, diagrams, facts and architecture that you give to your developer internally or a development company or to me, to build your online project.
The requirements are based on information from internal stakeholders based on the business purpose, functionality and customer online experience required.
Why do you need them?
Although organisations vary in their IT needs there are some fundamental processes that can be followed to ensure a successful development.
Software projects have a long history of under performance relative to the size of the project. Even if the project is small now, what about the lifetime of the project over several years? Do you want to be able to build on it? Or have you had to start again every time? Did you get what you wanted?
