Who is the daring, dashing black and yellow super hero making a splash on the media scene?
Media’s first super hero is TorchMan, rescuing confused shoppers at the point of purchase.
TorchMedia’s new Marketing Character TorchMan appears in a JQuery Flash Page TakeOver on the TorchMedia website.
The Page TakeOver uses JQuery to create a div layer that expires after the animation has run. The div is set so that no matter what browser window a user has it will be full size in their screen and edge to edge. The flash file is able to communicate a close box to that div by using ActionScript in the flash file to communicate with the page. Finally the animation uses the JQuery Cookie class to only be seen by the user once within a set period of time. Once it has run the user will not see the animation again until that period of time expires.
A second clickable div containing TorchMan is then created at the side of the screen and this is also positioned using the CSS z-index properties to ensure that no matter the users browser window it looks good or disappears behind the main content of the site when the window changes size.
