As an Information Architect, Coder, Media Strategist and Business Professional I have worked and consulted for Fairfax Digital, News Digital and Federal Publishing on various projects. This is a selection of my Online Media Experience.
Description
Fairfax Digital
- Product Management: Worked with the News and Finance Director at Fairfax Digital (f2 Network) to increase revenue, product range and yield of online advertising positions.
- Business Development: Developed sales stories and presentations for online media sales and for the Fairfax Digital Alliance Program.
- Developed strategies, inventory and programs for Online Media, increasing yields, inventory and value.
- Supported an online media team to increase their sales effort through concepts, media strategies and creative.
- Developed special online section strategies and presentations including ad types and placements for all Fairfax Digital web sites.
- Developed a technology and business section strategy, presentation and advertising placements for the Fairfax Digital News Sites (Sydney Morning Herald and TheAge).
- Presentation and Design: Developed presentation designs and templates for all client facing materials.
- Technical and Sales Documentation: Created written and visual content for approx 50 Online Guides covering 5 key aspects of the online network (General, Technologies, Products, Case Studies, Sites & Demographics). This included design, layout and production in PDF format, including hyperlinking between guides and online locations. For Fairfax Digital for their Ad Centre.
- Created a requirements document for managing filler ad inventory.
- Sales Programs: I helped to develop the IT Whitepapers PDF lead generation program, for the technology section of the Fairfax Digital News Sites (Sydney Morning Herald and TheAge) online.
- Product Development: I developed products such as video island ads for the sales team to sell in conjunction with the Fairfax Digital tech team.
- Customer Service: I was the primary sales contact for busting both technical (flash/DHTML/HTML etc), content related and sales objections, sometimes coding solutions and fixing flash files on the fly.
- Web Upgrade: My team re-skinned the legacy technology behind the ‘other’ classified categories for Fairfax Digital.
- Customer Self Service: I headed up a team integrating the newspaper ad booking service into the domain.com.au site for real estate classifieds. This involved creating the requirements documentation (from a business, cost and technical perspective), directing the team developing the user interface (Wireframes/HTML) and directing the .net development teams to implement the solution into the online site framework. This included integration with the legacy call centre technology and process.
- Sales Initiative: I managed the "Domain Developer’s" pitch, including designing and writing the sales presentation to apartment developers, managing the technical issues and teams to implement the program. I worked with sales to sell the program and implemented SMS and Direct Email as part of the value to advertisers for Fairfax Digital.
- Content Management: I helped integrate third party content and advertising into the existing online sites within the Fairfax Digital Network.
- Integrated Media: Participated in integrated media programs such as colour in classifieds, web pointers and Print to Web (Catalogues and Display Ads Online) from the Fairfax Newspapers.
- Customer Self Service: Worked on the business architecture for the Fairfax Digital AdCentre headed up by Clair Mula Trade Marketing Manager Fairfax Digital.
- I implemented display, classified and insert up-sells from the Fairfax Publications to the online network. For example display ad PDFs online and catalogues online.
- I was part of a team integrating Web Pointers into all Fairfax print publications to increase online traffic.
- I worked with the domain.com.au team and project managed the introduction of the ‘Developer Packages’ that gave companies such as LendLease and Meriton the ability to own state and regional landing pages on domain.com.au
- I worked on the project to add PDF city guides from Lonely Planet to the Newstore interface at Fairfax Digital.
- I was involved with the development of the IT Whitepapers program that provided direct leads to customers and significant revenue to Fairfax Digital on their News Sites (Sydney Morning Herald and TheAge).
- I helped integrate 3rd Party systems such as Eyeblaster into the Fairfax Digital network for customers and internal teams.
News Digital
- Consulted on requirements for the new CareerOne.com.au jobs portal and ran workshops to develop product and development requirements. Created supporting and the full requirements documentation and provided an analysis of the current product.
- Consulted on Product Development initiatives and concepts for TrueLocal.
- Consulted on Homesite to develop data taxonomy and methodology for clients to provide data simply in XML/CSV format.
Federal Publishing
- Created a requirements document for a competition engine.
- Created a requirements document for a general classifieds engine.
- Coded up the Modern Boating Customer Upload and Publishing Interface.
- Coded and created an upload interface to take general real estate listings and push them up onto the online real estate database for the HomeHound website.
